Patterns Emerge With Self Awareness
As I dive deeper into Self Awareness, Patterns Emerge. I first learned about Patterns with Christopher Alexander’s Book; Pattern Language. Although the book mostly focused on architectural patterns, the same premise applies to Life Patterns. Patterns & Habits are close neighbors. We are sometimes blind to both. Then Intuition is in the background, and when to bring that to the forefront can become confusing. What is quite helpful is Journaling, and looking back on different notes & entries. Journaling gives us a very personal Road Map of Where We Have Been. And, an Opportunity to Change Direction.
We need to use our clear reason and intuitive knowingness to determine truth, yet most of us do the exact opposite of this. We assume that what we believe to be true is true and never check to see if it actually is true. Our feelings, beliefs, and ideas from the past are treated as though they are facts, and then we reason from these imagined facts and find that we are not actually dealing with what is.
There are many people who are always waiting for the next thing to react against, to feel annoyed or disturbed about — and it never takes long before they find it. “This is an outrage,” they say. “How dare you….” “I resent this.” They are addicted to upset and anger as others are to a drug.
